Kyla Zhao was born and raised in Singapore and now lives in California, where she works in tech by day and writes novels by night. A graduate of Stanford University with degrees in Communications and Psychology, she is the author of May the Best Player Win, Valley Verified, and The Fraud Squad—stories that spotlight characters of color challenging gender stereotypes in male-dominated spaces.

Her work has been featured by outlets including NBC, CBS, Good Morning America, Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed, and more. Recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, a Tatler Leader of Tomorrow, and with a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly, Kyla continues to champion Asian representation through vibrant, joyful stories where characters of color take center stage.
